In accordance with articles 17-21 of SOHEDEO-Amahoro Iwacu relating to general assembly, an annual meeting was organized and took place on Saturday 16 March 2024.

On the agenda, there were the following items:

📍Presenting  activities  from the inception of organization to date,
📍Discuss how members participate (contribute) to the activities of the organization,
📍Presenting the activities planned until June 2024, when we will be requesting the legal personality,
📍Welcoming new members,
📍AOB.

Point by point, we discussed the following:

✅ As posted on the organization’s website,(www.sohedeo.org), everything that was done was shared with the participants in the meeting, those who have questions have had room to ask them, and participants were shown how the website works (e.g. How to find SOHEDEO programs, how to get where photos of the members of the executive committee are, etc.)

P.S. Speaking about using our organization’s website, participants were informed that on the website there is a way for those who can support the organization (donations), to do so through the website under Donate button, and you can use mobile money (MTN&Airtel) or bank cards (Visa&Mastercard).

✅The meeting participants concluded that members will contribute 10,000 FRW per year,
✅The activities planned until June 2024 are:

📍Training for youth from the families of genocide perpetrators and genocide survivors in civic education and psychosocial support,
📍Collaborate with NYABITEKERI sector – NYAMASHEKE district, where SOHEDEO operates, in the commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. SOHEDEO will make a donation of 100,000 FRW to help our beneficiaries in the commemoration, i.e. paying their transport from their families to the Gashirabwoba genocide memorial site.

📍The application for a legal personality at RGB will require a performance report and 300,000 FRW,

✅ We have welcomed new members, a man and a woman:
-HABYARIMANA Jean Marie et
-MUKARUSINE Libérée

✅Among other things, it was suggested that during the next commemoration event, it should be planned how the members will participate and descend to Cyangugu/Gashirabwoba.
